Week 6: Storage

Okay, it looks like when I put together my project (read: wrote 52 words on paper during one night after a glass of champagne) I just chose stuff that can be shot at my own home. Very convenient of course. Especially in winter time when I feel very home-y. Then again kind of cool, because it shows that for inspiration I don't need to travel many kilometers away.

Obvious storage - some boxes from Ikea. I have a lot of white open shelf space, so boxes kick ass.

Oh and every house wife's must-have (riiiight? I own no house, I am no wife) - ziplock/minigrip bags. I adore them in all shapes and sizes.

There's also a more presentable option of storing my pencils and pens. Yes, I am addicted to pencils and pens.

Oh, I cannot resist cute metal tins. Especially if they came "for free" (you know, filled with sweets). Great place to keep all those business cards of good restaurants and cute shops.

Tins work also great in the kitchen. For all the baking essentials. Including a fat cat timer. Got those on sale from Urban Outfitters in Stockholm.

Kitchen is an overall fun place to justify cute jars, boxes, tins etc.

The other day I tried to organize my shoes, so I added labels to my shoe boxes tucked away in my wardrobe.

I also tried to collect all different nail polish bottles together and arrange neatly.

Moreover, I created a sneaky paper holder that hangs between my table and the wall. You know for all those mags and well... paper stuff that piles up. Using a hook meant for handbags and a more sturdy shopping bag from COS.

Oh and well, I think different storage items are great for a little super cheap designer touch to my home. I love Scandinavian design, I cannot really afford it tho.

Marimekko Unikko print tin for my concert tickets and festival wrist bands.

Iittala Taika cup for some lipgloss and well, local musical instruments.

Oh and you know, there's no other way to keep water as in designer shape ice cubes (coming from Alvar Aalto ice cube mould).

So, I have no storage issues. However, I might have omg-I-have-so-much-stuff issues. :) Can't say I am really complaining tho. As long as I can keep track of it and make use of it.

xoxo

    1. Thanks a lot! Well, let's be honest here, I just avoid posting photos of the daily mess. ;) I have constantly a pile of sth somewhere (papers, clothes, kitchen stuff, food etc). But on some days I really try to take control, sometimes I'm successful, sometimes less so.
